As a Conservation Biologist working at an inflection point in the earth's biodiversity history, I aim to use partnerships and smart science to improve ecosystem resilience. From chasing the cryptic black rail (Laterallus jamaicensis) in boats across South Carolina to placing video cameras on saltmarsh sparrow (Ammospiza caudacuta) nests at night in Connecticut, I have spent most of the past fifteen years working in tidal salt marshes. I now work across Long Island, NY on coastal resilience, tidal marsh restoration, and tidal marsh bird conservation projects in an effort to preserve our way of life- for wildlife and humans alike. |
